Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for an RN in a High-Acuity Cardiac Unit!

Job Description:


- Shift: 07:00 - 19:00
- Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staff: 65 (RNs and PCTs)
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5-8 RNs, 2-4 PCTs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5-8 nurses, 2-3 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: 1:4, often in a 1:5 ratio

- Equipment Utilized:
- Telemetry monitors, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps
- Trach care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow
- Chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, SCD pumps
- EMR: Meditech

- Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Must Have:
- Minimum 1-year current PCU hospital experience
- BLS, ACLS & NIH certifications
- Preferred Skills:
- Chest tube management and removal
- Pacer wire management and removal
- Proficiency in 12-lead EKGs
- O2 management (including BiPAP and heated high flow)
- Familiarity with drips: heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, ketamine

- Typical Procedures:
- Post-cath care for right & left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, pacemaker implantations
- Thoracic surgery care including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, chest tube management
- Pre & post care for open-heart surgical patients: CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, aortic dissection repairs
- Vascular surgery post-op care
