Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Assignment Overview:
  • Start: May & June dates available, with ongoing 7 10 days/month in 2026
  • Orientation: Day prior to first shift at 8:00 AM
  • Schedule: 24-hour call (7AM 7AM) with 5 6 hours/day on-site clinical care
  • Rounding: 8 hours included in call
Coverage Dates:
  • 5/5 (AM) 5/13 (AM)
  • 6/19 (AM) 6/26 (AM)
Clinical Setting:
  • Inpatient Pediatrics, Level II Nursery, ED Consults, Family Birth Center
  • 6-bed pediatric unit (avg. census: 1 2 patients/day)
  • 4 6 newborns/day on average
  • Minimal callback volume
Responsibilities:
  • Inpatient pediatric rounding and newborn care
  • ED consults and admissions
  • Stabilize and transfer critical patients
Required Procedures:
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Intubation
  • Umbilical line placement
  • Neonatal resuscitation
Requirements:
  • Must have recent case logs (within 24 months) including:
    • Endotracheal intubations / vent management
    • Newborn care
    • Lumbar punctures
    • Umbilical lines
Additional Details:
  • No circumcisions required
  • Not required to attend all deliveries (only high-risk when needed)
  • 15-minute response time for emergent situations
  • Strong RN/RT support team
EMR: Patient Keeper (Meditech interface)

Travel:
  • Preferred lodging provided
  • Nearby regional airports available if needed
