POSITION: Case Manager

DEPARTMENT: St. Joseph County Community Corrections

WORK SCHEDULE: M-F 8am-4pm with one scheduled day 10am-6pm

SALARY: $42,888 a year

STATUS: Full time

FLSA STATUS : Salary Non-exempt

The incumbent serves as a Case Manager in a community corrections facility, overseeing client progress and ensuring compliance with program requirements. They assess individual needs, develop case plans, and connect clients with appropriate services to support their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Responsibilities

Evaluate clients' backgrounds, risks, and needs to develop individualized case plans that support rehabilitation and successful reintegration.

Ensure clients follow court-ordered conditions, program rules, and supervision requirements, reporting violations as necessary.

Maintain detailed case notes, progress reports, and legal documentation for internal records and court updates.

Qualifications

Ability to effectively interact with clients, law enforcement, court officials, and community service providers.

Capable of managing difficult situations, de-escalating conflicts, and making sound decisions under pressure.

Ability to handle multiple cases, maintain records, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds while providing non-judgmental support to justice-involved individuals.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or human services preferred.

Prior work in probation, parole, reentry programs, social services, or behavioral health is often preferred, especially with justice-involved individuals.
