Associate Attorney

We are a well-established, "AV" rated litigation firm founded in 1970. We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its thriving defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take ownership of cases, gain significant courtroom experience, and work alongside a team of accomplished litigators handling complex and high-exposure matters.The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation defense and be comfortable managing cases through all phases of litigation.Responsibilities-Independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution-Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda-Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts-Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances-Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure-Communicate directly with insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel-Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings-Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution-Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and reportingQualifications-J.D.-Active membership in the Florida or South Carolina Bar-3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred-Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills-Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities-Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously-Trial experience is a plus but not requiredCompensation & Benefits-Competitive salary commensurate with experience-Performance-based bonus opportunities-Medical, dental, and vision insurance-401(k) with employer contribution-Paid vacation and holidays-CLE and professional development support-Hybrid work schedule-Partnership track potential for the right candidateBenefitsContribute to health insurance premiums Parental & Maternal LeaveVoluntary Vision & Dental InsuranceVoluntary Life InsuranceShort and Long Term DisabilityMatch 401(k)10 holidays firmwide a year plus additional 10 PTO days first yearAdditional 15 PTO days for 2nd year, further bumps at 5 and 15 year marks.
