Responsibilities:
• Consistently provide high levels of customer service while consulting customers in person at our shipping & receiving service desk or via phone or via email.
• Receive, count and verify all incoming packages and mail, notating damage and discrepancies.
• Process, sort, and stage packages and mail for pick-up and delivery.
• Inspect deliveries for suspicious shipments.
• Ensure the accurate sorting and delivering of all incoming packages and other shipments to the proper recipient location through the tools provided.
• Research mail, packages and other shipments addressed to unknown or unrecognized addresses.
• Utilize handheld scanners to deliver packages and obtain proof of delivery signatures.
• Pick up outgoing mail, packages and boxes, using cart or, for larger items hand truck or dolly.
• Prepare and package outgoing items for proper shipping.
• Prepare and process outbound courier shipments using computer or service provider's equipment.
• Utilize postage machine to properly meter outbound mail.
• Enter activity data in logs and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in maintaining office supplies inventory.
• Deliver office supplies and copy paper and stock conference rooms and print copy stations.
• Have good working knowledge of mail and computer basics.
• Completing other tasks as may be assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Minimum 2-year customer service and office related experience preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Postage Meter, UPS, FedEx, DHL knowledge a plus.
• Experience with international shipping a plus.
• Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to change in the work environment.
• Strong work ethic; diplomatic; team player and service-oriented; builds strong working relationships.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail.
