Job Description
TITLE
Pre-Op / PACU - Outpatient Surgery

SCHEDULE
- Typical shift: Mainly 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
- Occasional shifts: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
- Pre/Post start times vary by assignment: staggered starts from 06:00-08:30 (flexibility required)

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
- Daily census: ~10 patients
- 4 rooms

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
- Compact nursing license must be in hand at submission
- References: 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Experience with Epic charting preferred

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct pre-op assessments and provide education to patients
- Monitor and care for patients in PACU Phase I & II, ensuring safety and comfort
- Administer conscious/procedural sedation and Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
- Manage pain assessment and familiarize with nerve blocks and reversal agents
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG, communicate lab values effectively
- Follow protocols for malignant hyperthermia, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Background checks required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
- Limited Request Time Off (RTO): 7 days max as standard, submit requests up-front
- Expected to float to sister facilities as needed; refusal may affect assignment
- No direct outreach to facility contacts unless coordinated by account manager
