Compensation: $8 per hour + tips

Rivas Coffee, Cocktails & Kitchen brings together Latin-inspired food, specialty coffee, and handcrafted cocktails in the Houston Heights. We’re looking for an experienced, personable bartender who takes pride in making great drinks and creating a welcoming experience for every guest.

Our ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable balancing quality with speed. You should enjoy connecting with guests, working with a team, and keeping the bar running smoothly—not just making drinks.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare consistent, high-quality drinks. Make house cocktails, classic cocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes, measurements, and presentation standards.
• Provide attentive hospitality. Welcome guests, explain the menu, recommend drinks and food pairings, and stay attentive throughout their visit.
• Keep service moving. Manage bar guests and service tickets efficiently, enter orders accurately in Toast, and communicate clearly with servers and the kitchen.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar. Prepare garnishes, restock supplies, clean equipment and glassware, and complete opening and closing duties.
• Support inventory control and responsible service. Follow portion standards, communicate low-stock items, minimize waste, and follow identification-checking and alcohol-service procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous bartending experience in a restaurant or bar; craft cocktail experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine, along with a willingness to learn our house recipes and menu.
• Friendly, professional communication and the ability to stay organized during busy service.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a team-first attitude, including a willingness to help with side work and support coworkers.
• Attention to cleanliness, drink consistency, order accuracy, and the overall guest experience. Experience with Toast is a plus.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their station, notices what guests and teammates need, and follows through without constant reminders. Whether you’re serving a guest at the bar or preparing drinks for the dining room, your hospitality and attention to detail should remain consistent.
