Job Title

General Manager Duties: As a Front Line Manager you will:

1. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
2. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
3. Evaluate work performance of subordinates and makes recommendations for outstanding performance recognition and/or disciplinary action.
4. Give advice, counsel or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
5. Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions.
6. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, refer group grievances and/or more serious unresolved complaints as appropriate.
7. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommend other actions in more serious cases.
8. Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
9. Initiate ways to improve production, work processes and/or to increase the quality of the work directed.

• Provides technical and administrative supervision to employees performing technical work involving the research and resolution of taxpayer account issues. Plans, organizes, and assigns work based on program priorities, workload requirements, and employee capabilities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments. Establishes priorities, monitors work in progress, and reviews completed work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures, taking corrective action as needed.
• Exercises full supervisory authority over assigned staff, including developing and communicating performance expectations, evaluating employee performance, and providing ongoing feedback to improve individual and team performance. Identifies training and developmental needs and provides or arranges appropriate training to enhance employee skills in account resolution and compliance actions. Selects or recommends candidates for appointment, promotion, reassignment, or detail, and takes appropriate personnel actions, including recognition and disciplinary measures.
• Performs administrative management functions, including approving leave, certifying time and attendance, and ensuring adequate staffing to meet workload demands. Resolves employee concerns at the lowest appropriate level and refers more complex issues as necessary. Maintains position descriptions and supports effective position management.
• Performs technical work involving the research and resolution of taxpayer account issues by reviewing tax returns, schedules, and supporting documentation. Identifies discrepancies, determines appropriate corrective actions, and initiates adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness of taxpayer accounts and records in accordance with established procedures.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, including workload planning, assignment, monitoring, and performance management, sufficient to direct work, evaluate employee performance, and provide guidance, feedback, and training.
