Overview This Retail Relationship Banker role supports our DeNovo branch expansion, where you’ll launch new locations, shape team culture, and drive client growth from day one. Responsibilities Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice regarding financial solutions that best serve the customer. Collaborate with branch and BMO partners to achieve the desired customer experience and business objectives. Proactively engage existing customers and prospects with needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities. Conduct needs assessments to recommend tailored solutions, including everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing and small business solutions. Offer advice on digital and self‑serve options to make banking easy, simple, and fast. Support customer transaction needs based on traffic. Generate appointments and build new relationships within the community. Resolve issues raised through credit audits and quality checks to ensure accurate data entry and lending application recommendations in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Apply the risk management framework to safeguard the Bank’s assets and maintain portfolio quality. Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, in line with sound credit principles and Bank policies. Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Contribute to ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience. Work at multiple branches or through various channels as market needs dictate; schedules may vary week to week. Follow risk and compliance processes, safeguard customer assets, protect privacy, and act in the best interest of clients. Stay current on the marketplace, legal and regulatory environment, and personal banking product trends. Identify and report suspicious patterns related to potential money laundering. Handle escalations, analyze issues, and determine next steps. Take measured risks aligned with the risk management framework and business strategy. Qualifications Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Canada only: Registration to sell investment products completed (as applicable). Appropriate lending qualifications and designations. Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs and solutions. Knowledge of retail investments and lending products. Experience in financial services is an asset. Skilled in using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications. Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience. Passionate commitment to helping customers. Ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team‑based environment. Self‑starter, resourceful, with confidence and courage to approach customers. Act, and Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $50,100.00 – $82,800.00 (Salaried). Compensation may vary with location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications; may include commissions.
