Electrical Estimator PositionWatson Electrical Construction is a leading provider of electrical contracting services, specializing in delivering high-quality solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Wilson, North Carolina.Estimators play a key role in driving project success by preparing competitive bids and detailed cost estimates for Watson's electrical construction projects. They analyze drawings and specifications, uncover project requirements, and develop winning strategies that keep costs in check while positioning the team for successful project awards.Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimatePrepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter computer estimating system; review computer reports for accuracy and completenessRequest quotes from suppliers for materials and equipmentIdentify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with established plans and specificationsItemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools and suppliersPrior to the issuing of formal bid packages, provide principles a detailed review of scope, technical requirements and pricing for the estimated bid packageResponsible for the timely completion of all client-required documentsDraft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimate figuresAfter the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the projectPosition Requirements:Work ExperienceNeeds to be familiar with multiple types of Electrical InstallationAt least 4 years of working in the electrical fieldAt least 2 years of prior electrical estimating experienceLicenses & CertificationsMust possess a current state driver's licenseApplicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company (Preferred Certifications orEducationHigh School Graduate or GEDSoftwareExperience in Accubid software preferred or similar softwareExperience in Live Count preferred, but not requiredExperience in CAD and/or 3D software preferred, but not requiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)Experience with Blue Beam preferred but not required.PhysicalSitting and standing for extended periods, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending and lifting (up to 40lbs.)Skills & Abilities:Advanced knowledge of assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques and cost controlAbility to interpret computerized cost data and systemsStrong mathematical abilities with precision in performing complex estimating calculationsProficient in reading and analyzing blueprints and engineering design drawingsCustomer-focused with ability to understand and exceed client needs and expectationsAbility to understand and follow standard operating policies and proceduresProblem solver, capable of navigating unique challenges with limited guidelinesHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines effectivelyThrives in deadline-driven environment and adapts to changing requirements with a positive attitudeClear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writingSelf-motivated, proactive, and collaborative team playerProfessional and effective in building strong relationships with colleagues, vendors, clients, and stakeholdersBenefits:Competitive CompensationHealth Insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision) multiple plans availableComprehensive Mental Health Resources401(k) Including Company MatchHealth Savings Account & Flexible Spending Account — plans available to help you pay for expenses group insurance doesn't coverDisability & Life InsurancePTO & Paid Company HolidaysEmployee Referral ProgramMandatory Hiring Requirements: Resume, References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing Watson Electrical Construction Co
