Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer

The Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and supervises the care of student-athletes competing in the College’s athletic programs. The Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management of injuries within the College’s comprehensive sports medicine program. Essential Functions: Prevention of athletic injuries and illness. Evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries. Athletic training administrative duties Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions. Recordkeeping and documentation. Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student-athletes Other Areas: Other duties assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Director of Athletics. QualificationsDesired Education, Skills, and Experience: Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization required. Three to five years professional experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC), State Athletic Training Licensure and First Aid/CPR. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver’s license. Knowledge and experience of insurance policies and procedures, submitting claims and explanation of benefits. Basic knowledge of NCAA regulations. Strong oral and written skills; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, and adequate computer skills. High ethical standards and ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, students and other publics. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
