Scope of the Role

· Microbiological skills including:

o Aerobic plate counts

o Most probable number analysis

o Isolating and identifying bacterial cultures

o ELISA

o PCR

o Media preparation

o Good aseptic technique

· Routine laboratory functions

o Date entry and validation

o Maintaining bacterial control cultures

o Instrument calibration, maintenance, and repair

o Maintaining the laboratory and notebooks in an always audit prepared state

o Inventory, maintaining 5S organization, and cleaning

· Process Validation and Protocol Support

o Process equipment inspections and sample collection

o Allergen testing

Experience Required

· Bachelor of Science in a Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Food Sciences or related required.

· 1+ years’ experience working in FDA regulated GMP environment in either a food or pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory setting preferred

· Good written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation and organizational skills.

· Demonstrated critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team.

· Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibility for the results.

· Ability to work overtime as needed
