Job Description

The cashier is responsible for opening and closing his/her own cash registers and charging customers. The cashier must have excellent communication with the customer and ask the necessary questions to take the order in a professional, cordial, and CORRECT way!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet the customers with "Bienvenido's" and a smile.
• Entering food orders using cash register POS System.
• Handling cash and credit transactions. Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each work shift, accept cash and return the correct change.
• Maintain a well-stocked salsa bar, drink cup lids, and napkins before and after shift, clean dining room, and cashier station.
• Maintain beverage fridges stocked and clean.
• Upsell products sides, drinks, aguas frescas, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant and follow all food safety and health & safety guidelines.
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
• Take pride in serving guests and providing exceptional customer service.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the MOD (Manager on Duty).

Requirements

• Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good math skills.
• Basic PC knowledge.
• Ability to handle cash and credit transactions.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
