Medical Director, Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care AdventHealth for Children – Orlando, Florida Overview The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children seeks an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead the division of pediatric cardiac intensive care. The physician will advance the Cardiac ICU program, mentor CICU physicians, develop quality improvement processes, standardize care, and engage stakeholders within the hospital and community. Clinical time will be 80% in the CICU, with 20% dedicated to leadership activities. The role collaborates with the Medical Director of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Surgery and with the dedicated pediatric cardiology team of seven physicians. Cardiac ICU Details The CICU is a 15‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art unit caring for post‑surgical patients with an annual case volume of 250. It also supports interventional cardiology and electrophysiology cases requiring critical care services. Responsibilities Lead growth of the Cardiac ICU program in alignment with the surgical program Mentor CICU physicians and provide clinical leadership Develop and implement quality improvement processes Standardize clinical care protocols Engage stakeholders within the hospital and community Balance clinical duties (80%) and leadership responsibilities (20%) Qualifications Minimum 5 years of post‑fellowship experience Preferred experience leading a Cardiac Critical Care group or division Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Critical Care Completion of a Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship or Cardiology Fellowship (preferred) Strong communication skills Team‑player mentality Benefits & Compensation Competitive compensation and call coverage.
