Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatric Emergency Department will provide professional nursing care according to the standards set by the American Nurses Association and the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver proficient nursing care based on comprehensive assessments of patient and family needs, ensuring a patient and family experience-oriented environment.

In this role, the RN will also act as a change agent to effectively respond to the rapidly changing needs of all customers, both internal and external, with the expectation to float across all ED sites and inpatient units when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the standards of care.
• Interact with the interdisciplinary team to promote optimal health outcomes for patients and families.
• Deliver proficient nursing care based on detailed assessments of patient/family needs.
• Float across all ED sites and inpatient units as required, including the Mental Health Crisis Center.
• Manage the care of 1-4 patients based on patient acuity and unit needs.

Required Experience

• 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with charting systems relevant to the role.

Certifications / Licensure

• Active and unrestricted RN License in Ohio or compact license.
• Current CPR certification.
• PALS certification.
