Communications Specialist

Based in Portsmouth, NH, this role is a key driver in shaping our internal messaging, managing local intranet content, and keeping our site connected and informed.

Office‑first roles This is an office‑first role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 20% of your time (one day per week).

Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

• Drive daily communications efforts by drafting, formatting, and publishing content across internal channels (intranet, newsletters, digital signage) to connect the Portsmouth site with corporate goals.

• Maintain and update the Portsmouth intranet (CoLab) to ensure site-wide information remains accurate, engaging, and current.

• Serve as a brand guardian by proofreading and copyediting communications materials for clarity, consistency, and alignment with corporate style guidelines.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and the Communications Manager to coordinate, review, and finalize content for site publication.

• Support high-visibility internal communications campaigns and site initiatives, including employee engagement activities, volunteer events, and site assemblies.

• Collaborate closely with the broader site communications and administration team to execute operational tasks and support ongoing business priorities.

• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in communications, internal marketing, or a related role; experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment is a plus.

• Written Communication & Copyediting: Strong written skills with intermediate copyediting and proofreading capabilities, demonstrating high attention to detail and grammar.

• Technical & CMS Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with SharePoint, modern intranet platforms, or Content Management Systems (CMS).

• Organizational Skills: Highly organized with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and delivering quality work under tight timelines.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Education & Transferable Skills: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on professional experience demonstrating core messaging skills.
