Summary

The Customer Load Management (CLM)Supply Portfolio Tradermay work in various distinct areasincludingshort-termloadforecasting,New York IndependentSystemOperator (NYISO)energybidding/transacting,energy reconciliation,long-term forecasting, load research, load evaluations,Capacity/UCAP forecasting, NYISO ICAP/UCAP bidding/transacting,energy andcapacity reconciliation,and various market and customer load related analyticsand market bidding.

Within these areas, the CLM Trader performs,assistsand/or supports the critical functions necessary for the success of the group and its stakeholders.The CLMTradermust understand the fundamentals of customer tariffs and contracts fordevelopingcomprehensive, dynamic, and static forecasts of demand, energy,capacityandcoincidencepeak loads, as well as production sales delivery andtransactsNYISO-related bids andbilateralsforallNYPA'ssupplycustomersas well asenterprise-wide stakeholders.The CLMTradermanages all theenergyandcapacitytransactions within the NYISO marketplace and serves as the authoritative source for all supply-customer load and capacity related data associated with thetransactions.The CLMTrader must have strong analytical skillstosupport autonomous decision making,mustbe prepared to articulate anddefend theiranalytics behind the decisions;they must alsomanageand perform all thecustomerload-relatedreporting needs for the enterprise.They are consideredthe subject matterexpertson allaspects related to wholesale marketand retail customer load forecastingand Load Serving Entity (LSE) transactions.

Some additional responsibilities:

• • Participate in an oncall rotation (typically every 4-5 weeks, or as required by business needs) to provide afterhours support, monitoring forecast and scheduling variances over weekends or holidays due to changes in weather or anomalous loadshifting events.
  • Revise forecasts and adjust NYISO schedules in response to unexpected customer outages or loadreduction events that create significant variances.
  • Communicate with third parties to confirm bilateral transactions that are pending secondparty confirmation with the NYISO.
  
  
  

Responsibilities

• Execute daily functions required by NYISO as an LSE, Power Supplier, Transmission Customer & Market Participant
• Develop, monitor, adjust bids/schedules and forecasts to ensure adherence to strategy, fuel management constraints, contractual obligations & appropriate governance
• Review and analyze market conditions to develop & submit bids for all NYPA assets/portfolios on hourly/daily/forward basis
• Manage NYPA trading tools as appropriate to reduce NYPA exposure to market volatility
• Stay current with NYISO procedures, market issues and reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Familiar with Wholesale Electricity Market, Fuel Markets and/or associated Financial products.
• Basic business, statistical, financial, analytical and reasoning skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Able to adapt, multitask and work under pressure
  

Education, Experience and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree or required
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in an analytical role or equivalent combinations of education & experience.
• Utility or Energy Company experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Customer Load Management

• Role requires travel between various NYPA/customer locations, when necessary, approximately 10 times per year.
• Must be available for "on call" rotation.

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
