VMware/Network Administrator

e&e is seeking a VMware/Network Administrator for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!

We are seeking an experienced VMware / Network Administrator to support the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, performance, and availability of network and virtualized systems that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in VMware technologies and network administration, while demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise network and virtualization infrastructure.
• Manage and support VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and Log Insight.
• Administer physical and virtual servers to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
• Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Microsoft, Red Hat, and Linux operating systems and appliances.
• Perform system optimization, patch management, upgrades, and lifecycle planning activities.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related network services.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement improvements.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within scope.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to support organizational initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, network, and virtualization issues.
• Respond to critical technical, system, and emergency issues outside of normal business hours as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in VMware administration.
• Experience in networking systems administration.
• Hands-on experience with VMware technologies, including: vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Log Insight
• Experience administering physical and virtual server environments.
• Experience supporting Microsoft, Red Hat, and Linux operating systems.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex infrastructure systems.
• Experience with system optimization, patch management, and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
• Experience managing technical projects and meeting established timelines.
• Experience administering Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with peers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
• Willingness to provide after-hours support for critical infrastructure issues when necessary.
