Buffer

Job Summary

This is a detail oriented, fast paced position that operates/tends a motorized buffing wheel. The Buffing operator attaches a finished part to the buffer and while the part is rotating, the Buffer lightly applies sandpaper to create a smooth finish on the part surface.

Responsibilities and Duties

•Adhere to company Safety and product Quality standards.

•Keeps an accurate record of conforming, non-conforming and scrap parts produced each hour.

•Verify written information on production routing sheets and comprehend written work instructions.

•Presents any possible problem to floor supervisor or process engineer.

•Maintain a clean and safe work station - participate in the department 5S program.

•Maintain a high level of attendance and communicate absences with your supervisor.

Requirements

Experience/Education Requirements

•High School Diploma or GED preferred

•Prior manufacturing experience preferred

Physical requirements

•Work performed in a factory setting

•Regularly lifts and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

•Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, kneel, crouch and walk about the production facility.

Regularly required to use their hands and fingers to feel objects and verify that parts have a smooth finish
