Role Description The Associate Attorney will work on a full-time, on-site basis in Toms River, NJ, supporting the firm’s attorneys in delivering effective legal services. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and memoranda, and reviewing contracts and other legal documents. The role involves providing legal advice under supervision, assisting in client meetings, and preparing for hearings, depositions, and negotiations. The Associate Attorney will collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, manage assigned case files, and ensure timely communication with clients and courts. The position also includes staying current with relevant case law, statutes, and regulations to support accurate and up-to-date legal counsel.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law and Labor and Employment Law, with the ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Ability to provide clear, well-reasoned Legal Advice, including drafting opinion letters and guidance for clients.
  • Proficient in legal Research, including use of electronic databases and preparation of research summaries and briefs.
  • Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, participating in settlement discussions, and advocating for client interests.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission, or eligibility for admission, to the New Jersey Bar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience or internships in litigation or labor and employment law are beneficial.
