Occupational Therapist (OT) - Hoopeston Region

Overview Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. This position will be evaluating and treating patients in the hospital (inpatient setting) and will fill in for the outpatient team when needed. It also works with discharge planning and with the care team on accepting patients to the swing bed facility. Sign‑on bonus available Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA) Completion of required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients Knowledge and skills in both outpatient and inpatient settings Responsibilities Performs patient transfers with assistance as needed and demonstrates safe body mechanics to reduce injury risk. Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatments, outcomes and discharge plan, adjusting care based on patient response and evidence. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods. Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes of care. Performs examinations selecting reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening results, and history. Screen patients to determine effectiveness and need for further therapy services. Uses support personnel in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines, and monitors their care with regular feedback. Documents evaluations and plans of care, including goals, modifications and patients' response to treatments. Completes annual education assignments required to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $34.66 per hour – $59.62 per hour. Actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
