The role you'll contribute:

The Community Health team will serve as the Divisional leaders striving to improve the health of the communities we serve. The team will ensure Community Benefit requirements are met as outlined by the IRS and the state of Colorado, as well as lead efforts to develop, implement and evaluate strategic health improvement efforts in the community.

The Community Benefit Coordinator position is responsible for executing Community Health strategies in their assigned area of responsibility as well as serving as the content expert for specific functions for the Rocky Mountain Region Community Health team.

The Community Benefit Coordinator is responsible for execution of IRS-required functions including, but not limited to:

• Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)
• Community Health Plan - development, implementation and evaluation (CHIP)
• Ongoing tracking of Community Benefit
• State Hospital Community Benefit Accountability reports

Market Engagement

• Work with Director and CEO's in managing the development and execution of CHNA, CHIP.
• Participate in regional CHNA and CHP collaboratives, steering committees.
• Work in partnership with Director and divisional colleagues on completion of CHIP annual evaluations for the Market.
• Maintain relationships with hospital leadership throughout the Market.
• Manages and works in association with departments and facilities throughout the Market. Assist in creation of community benefit presentations and co-present to inform Director Community Health Improvement, as well as Community leaders on Community Health initiatives including updates at quarterly leadership meetings.
• Manage activation of market and facility community benefit programs including implementation and evaluation.
• Serve as point of contact for assigned facilities on community benefit initiatives to ensure inclusion of community benefit within strategic and financial planning processes.
• Analyze the community, public health and health care environment to identify and recommend opportunities for the advancement of community benefit.
• Advocate for health improvement efforts through policy, systemic and environmental change in collaboration with Government Relations and Community Advocacy teams.
• Manage sponsorship requests in alignment with Market Health Priorities and facility budgets.
• Collaborate with Director and sponsored community partners on metrics for annual CHIP evaluations.
• Compile metrics and reports as requested for CHIP strategies and objectives.
• Actively engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams and committees related to CHNA and CHP development and implementation.
• Responsible for convening a public meeting at least once a year to seek feedback regarding the hospital's community benefit activities during the previous year and the hospital's community benefit implementation plan for the following year.
• Attend meetings with community members and high-profile community events as AdventHealth representative

Community Health Needs Assessment

• Assist in management of the development, planning, execution, and analysis of the CHNA with Director oversight to meet regulatory requirement, organizational goals and objectives.
• Interprets and applies data to inform program planning and improvement.
• Participates in the analysis and integration of primary and secondary data from relevant sources to engage leadership and influence strategic planning, advocacy and mission driven programs.
• Integrates strategic planning methodologies and benchmarking and performance improvement tools into community benefit program planning, priority setting, and evaluation.
• Possesses a deep understanding of applicable Federal, State and local laws to ensure adherence and compliance with community benefit regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in timely and accurate compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines and standards.
• Participate in Division and Market meetings and manage development of agendas in partnership with leadership.

Community Benefit Reporting

• Lead reporting of community benefit initiatives through coordination and communication between support and business functions.
• Provides development, planning, execution, and analysis in all aspects of Community Benefit tracking in order to meet regulatory requirements and maximize organizational reporting of community benefit cash and in-kind donations.
• Manages community benefit data utilizing specialized software (CBISA) and other designated tools.
• Provides technical assistance through training, in-services, and webinars to ensure standardization of reporting of programs, activities and investments for external partners and internal staff working in activities that qualify as community benefit.
• Serve as content expert for what counts as community benefit.
• Serves as point of contact for Corporate Services for Community Benefit reporting-related requests.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

REQUIRED:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Business, Non-profit Management or related field

Experience

• Two or more years project management experience in healthcare, business, government, or community organization

PREFERRED:

Experience

• Background in public health or community health
• Experience working with community coalitions and/or stakeholder groups
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating community health promotion programs
