CNC MACHINIST
Monday - Friday
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up, program, and operate a Haas VS-3 CNC vertical machining center.
- Create and edit CNC programs according to blueprints and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, and machining specifications.
- Determine machining sequences, tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and workholding requirements.
- Select and install cutting tools and complete machine setups for new and repeat jobs.
- Load and properly secure raw materials and workpieces.
- Run first-piece parts and verify dimensions before continuing production.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using tape measures and precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot basic programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues.
- Identify and replace worn or damaged tooling.
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials as needed.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of one year of CNC machining experience.
- Experience independently programming and setting up CNC machinery preferred.
- Previous experience operating Haas CNC equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to program CNC machining operations, not solely load and unload parts.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC milling equipment with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings.
- Working knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and offsets.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to identify and correct basic machining or programming issues.
