Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator (PHR)

Location: 3421 Gasconade St, St. Louis, MO Pay Range: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour About the Role We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator with a background in long-term care or skilled nursing to join our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting a compliant, employee-focused workplace. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing both payroll and HR functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process and manage semi-monthly payroll for up to 1,100+ employees Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data prior to submission Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations Manage daily timekeeping, including edits and corrections Track payroll variables such as overtime, shift differentials, and on-call pay Ensure timely and accurate payroll reporting Human Resources Operations Oversee full-cycle HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and terminations Conduct candidate screening, interviews, and new hire orientation Maintain accurate, audit-ready employee personnel files Track and verify employee licenses, certifications, and health records Support employee relations, including disciplinary actions and performance management Assist with leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims Employee Relations & Compliance Promote a positive, professional workplace culture Partner with department managers on HR policies and employee concerns Support performance evaluations and improvement plans Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of payroll experience Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare setting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance Preferred: Experience managing payroll for large employee populations Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements Key Skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Team-oriented with a strong work ethic Why Join Us?
