Grantmaking Specialist (Part-Time) This is a part‑time position based in New Orleans. This role is open to candidates who currently resides in the greater New Orleans area or who are willing to relocate at their own expense. Hours: 24 hours per week Work Method: Remote with occasional in‑person meetings and attendance at cultural events in Greater New Orleans. Arts New Orleans will be transitioning into an office space in 2026, which will require approximately one to two in‑person workdays. Position Summary Arts New Orleans seeks a versatile, detail‑oriented Grantmaking Specialist to support the administration of the organization’s regranting programs. This part‑time position requires strong grant administration, organizational, and communication skills, as well as careful attention to detail. The Grantmaking Specialist plays a key role in managing grant cycles, supporting review panels, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a point of contact for applicants andनीय grantees. Arts New Orleans currently administers two regranting programs: the Community Arts Grant program, supported by the City of New Orleans, and Louisiana Project Grants, supported by the State of Louisiana. This position has a seasonal workflow, with peak activity during the spring and summer application cycles with reduced workload outside of the application and reporting periods. Key Responsibilities Grant Administration and Management Support the full grant cycle, including application intake, eligibility review, panel coordination, award notifications, and grant closeout. ڭ_track grant deadlines, contracts, reporting requirements, and payment schedules to ensure compliance with city and statetributor requirements. Maintain accurate and well‑organized electronic grant records using SharePoint and other internal systems. Prepare and process payment requests for regrant disbursements to approved grantees. Coordinate correspondence and reporting with city and state agencies related to regrant programs. Collaborate closely with the Deputy Director to ensure grantmaking activities align cookies with organizational goals and community priorities. Assist with ongoing improvements to grantmaking processes, systems, and documentation. Represent Arts New Orleans at funded programs and events as available and notify staff of unused complimentary tickets. Communication and Collaboration Serve as a primary point of contact for grant applicants and grantees, responding to inquiries promptly, clearly, and professionally. Provide guidance and technical assistance to applicants as appropriate. Foster positive working relationships with city and state partners through professional, courteous communication. Participate in bi‑weekly staff meetings, either virtually or in person, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Prior experience in grant administration or grantmaking, preferably in a nonprofit, public agency, or philanthropic organization. Strong administrative and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort working in shared digital environments such as SharePoint. Experience with or ability to quickly learn grantmaking databases and online application platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote‑first environment. Demonstrated discretion and commitment to confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative working style. Compensation is paid on a semi‑monthly basis in 24 equal pay periods, with payroll issued on the 15th and the last day of each month. Applicable federal, Setupquis, and other required payroll taxes will be withheld in accordance with law. Arts New Orleans will pay the employer‑required payroll taxes associated with this position. This is a part‑time employee position and does not include streets benefits. How We Work Arts New Orleans operates in a remote‑first environment, with a shared studio space used for meetings and collaborative work but will be transitioning into a space for a couple days per week.
