Workers Compensation Paralegal

Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Description Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our Workers Comp / PI team. Will assist his or her attorney in all aspects of works comp and personal injury case management, from case inception to settlement or trial. Will provide clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking. What will you do? Client Communication: maintain contact every 30 days Report, verify and obtain information: auto insurance, WC insurance, health insurance, etc. Coordinate medical treatment for clients & contact physicians for supporting documents, balances Draft forms: workers comp specific forms, discovery requests/responses, correspondence to insurers, courts, clients Diligently update all entries into our case management system (Litify) Request preliminary and final liens in a timely manner Manage all incoming and outgoing mail: scanning in, separating, saving attachments, locating correspondence from defense Required Qualifications Experience with workers compensation highly preferred Personal injury experience a plus Familiar with drafting discovery 2yrs of experience or more working as a legal assistant Experience working in case management software (Litify) Proficient in Microsoft Outlook / Calendaring appointments & deadlines Skills & Abilities Highly organized Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment Excellent communication skills both with clients & colleagues Self starter; skilled in time management Ability to multi-task & prioritize duties #J-18808-Ljbffr
