Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator.

Mechanical Estimator experienced in mechanical projects for the following but not limited to: industrial facilities, power plants, refineries, and pipeline construction projects.

Job Description:

• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings and Bid Walks to confirm requisite takeoffs of any Request for Quotations (RFQs)
• Prepare complete and detailed take-offs utilizing Trimble-Accubid estimating software
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, previous RFQ's, price lists, software uploads, etc.
• Support other department personnel as required; may include assisting with estimates in other disciplines
• May review design conditions and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or available materials
• Interface with Clients
• May provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimates
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 to 10 years experience of construction estimating
• Familiarity with Trimble-Accubid software
• Working knowledge of mechanical installation, estimating techniques, and cost controls
• Ability to interpret computerized costs data and systems
• Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines
• Strong computer skills
• Must have a stable work history
• Previous management of supervisory experience
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in industrial construction projects
• Strong Mechanical background on industrial construction projects
• Ability to work with others - Team player
• Good communication skills
• Commitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulations

Reports to Position:

• This position will report directly to the Mechanical Estimating Manager

Physical Requirements:

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and tools
• Will be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and capable of occasional work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respirators

Work Environment:

• This position primarily is performed from RCI's HWY 90 Construction Office in Beaumont, TX, but may be posted temporarily on project sites, when required. Field site visits will be required regularly.
