Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial and administrative operations of our HVAC company. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accurate and confidential financial records. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, customer invoicing and collections, payroll and employee records, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records using Quicken accounting software. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Quicken. Record and categorize daily business transactions. Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts on a regular basis. Manage accounts payable, including entering vendor invoices and preparing payments. Manage accounts receivable, including recording customer payments and monitoring outstanding balances. Prepare and send customer invoices for HVAC services, installations, and other work. Follow up on outstanding customer balances and assist with collections. Process payroll and maintain accurate employee payroll records. Maintain organized records of employee information, tax documents, and payroll-related paperwork. Monitor company expenses and ensure transactions are properly documented and categorized. Assist with month-end bookkeeping and financial reporting. Maintain organized digital and paper financial records. Communicate with vendors, customers, employees, and management regarding billing and payment matters. Assist the owner/management with financial information and other bookkeeping-related tasks as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee financial information. Qualifications Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a small business environment. Experience with Quicken accounting software is required or strongly preferred. Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping principles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information professionally. Experience working with a service, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other trade business is a plus.
