Job Description

The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of a production line in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role drives safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance while leading continuous improvement initiatives and developing a high-performing team culture.

The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) WILL:

• Lead and coordinate production, maintenance, quality, and support teams to achieve operational goals.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, GMP, and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Partner with shift leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency across all shifts.
• Support employee development, training, and team engagement.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and process improvement projects to optimize plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and labor agreements.

The Line Leader (Glass Manufacturing) SHOULD HAVE:

• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving techniques.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational performance.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; glass manufacturing experience preferred.
• Project Management and/or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and flow manufacturing principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using manufacturing and business systems such as SAP and other production, quality, or workforce management systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive operational improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change and support organizational transformation initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees in a team-oriented environment
• Flexible schedule - availability to support 24/7 operations

Additional Information

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $95,000 - $105,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
