$250K base | $350K–$400K total compensation

81 North is partnering with a leading digital-assets firm seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to help build its next-generation algorithmic trading and smart-order-routing platform.

This is a greenfield development opportunity for someone who has personally built execution algorithms, routing logic or low-latency electronic-trading systems. You will work closely with traders and product stakeholders while remaining deeply involved in the architecture and code.

What you'll work on:

• Low-latency, high-throughput EMS and Smart Order Router development
• Intelligent routing based on liquidity, execution quality, latency and cost
• Order-management and execution workflows
• Exchange and venue connectivity
• Real-time market-data processing
• System performance, resiliency and production support

What we're looking for:

• 8+ years of electronic or algorithmic trading technology experience
• Strong hands-on Java development
• Direct SOR, execution-algorithm, OMS or EMS experience
• Low-latency systems, concurrency, networking and memory management
• FIX, market gateways and real-time market-data feeds
• Linux and performance-profiling experience
• Experience partnering directly with traders and business stakeholders

Experience with institutional crypto, FX, market making, internalization or crossing networks is especially valuable.
