Assistant Coach, Baseball

Responsibilities The Assistant Coach supports in all coaching duties includingscheduling, recruiting, travel arrangements, and statistics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists with scheduling games and/or practice games, includingtravel arrangements. Assists coaches during practice and games on the field, such ascoaching on techniques. Sets-up for home games, including visiting and locker roomset-up and team equipment set-up. Performs outreach to athletes in the athletic housing apartmentsand/or secures apartments on their behalf. Follows up and reports on academic grades and arranges tutoringfor players. Assists with recruiting players from local public and privatehigh schools. Maintains statistics for practice and games. Creates scouting reports. Attends coach’s meetings and conferences. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of anacceptable equivalency diploma. One year of experience in designated sport at the high school orcollege level. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree from a regionally or nationally accreditedinstitution. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communicationskills. Ability to follow directions of immediate supervisor. Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, andstaff. Demonstrates strong knowledge of designated athleticsport. Ability to coach players to improve skills and gameperformance. Committed to working in a multicultural environment. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor. WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Works in an outside environment under various weatherconditions. Works flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Requires some evening and weekends, and travel around the stateand possibly overnight. Requires walking, standing for long periods, running, bending,and lifting, up to 50 lbs. of equipment. Pay Benefits and WorkSchedule $975 to $1,025 per month. Up to 26 hours per week.
