Position Information Position Title : Requisition Number H01498P Position Category : Hourly/Work Study Campus Location : Center for Continuing Education - Layton, UT Hours per week : 2-3 hours per week, one full 38-hour week every six months Months per year : 12 Pay Grade : Hourly Pay Rate $20-25 depending on experience and assigned responsibilities FLSA : This position requires candidates who have the ability to flex and work up to 45 hours a few weeks a year with the restriction that hourly employees can only work 59 hours within a pay period. Job Summary/Basic Function This position will provide child care for spouses of military members while they attend a professional development class. You will be working with young children, ages 0-9, ensuring their safety and keeping them entertained while their parent attends class. Classes are four hours long and are held one day a week, usually on Mondays. You may be responsible to plan and prepare activities for the children during this time. The child care will be in a classroom at the Center for Continuing Education in Clearfield/Layton, near the WSU Davis Campus, and parents will be in the same building. Required Qualifications Able to pass a background check. Kind to children. At least 16 years of age. Available during daytime work hours. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children. Knowledge of child development abilities and activity level. Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment. Physical Activity of this position Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc., using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Agility is emphasized. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing for sustained periods of time. Moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Lifting objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Expressing or exchanging ideas clearly and accurately. Physical Requirements of this position Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Not required The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
