Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an ambulatory surgery center position requiring BLS and NBSTSA certification with a broad range of surgical specialty experience.
Details
- Ambulatory surgery center setting supporting general OR and multiple surgical specialties
- Specialties include gynecology, plastics, podiatry, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, and ENT
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:55 AM to 5:25 PM
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
- BLS certification required
- NBSTSA certification preferred
- CST certification preferred
- License required if applicable
- Experience with aseptic technique, instrument processing, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
- Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic equipment, drills, and crash cart supplies
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety
Additional Information
- Prepare sterile fields for surgical operations including instrument setup and patient draping
- Assist surgeons with gowning and gloving prior to procedures
- Support the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies and anticipating surgeon needs during procedures
- Distribute supplies and perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed
- Adhere to all applicable regulations, codes, and policies to ensure patient safety and privacy
- May perform specific specialty procedures and assist in orienting new staff
- Accepts local candidates at the local rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
- Former employees may return without a required separation period
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
