• Saturday - Monday | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Position Type: 13-Week Contract
Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred
• Previous psychiatric, behavioral health, or adolescent mental health experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and mental health assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
• Monitor patients for symptoms of psychosis, self-harm, trauma, substance use, and behavioral concerns
• Provide crisis intervention and utilize trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patient responses
• Document medication effectiveness, side effects, and patient progress
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment while following observation and safety protocols
• Implement behavioral management strategies and therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning
• Respond appropriately to psychiatric emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Follow all facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards
