Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas
• Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols under supervision or as trained
• Support residents during social activities, outings, and community engagement to promote socialization and independence
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in compliance with privacy regulations
• Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic living environment for all residents

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are advantageous
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or autism spectrum disorder
• Strong organizational skills to follow care plans accurately and document resident information thoroughly
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed
