Travel Staff Pharmacist | Silt, Colorado

A travel pharmacist opportunity is available in Silt, CO, starting May 5th for a 20-week assignment with a potential extension to August 15, 2026, to accommodate start dates. This role involves rotating shifts, working 40 hours per week, beginning at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The assignment is integral to a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic EMR systems, making EPIC experience essential, while prior Meditech training is advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately as directed by physicians.
• Maintain medication inventory in patient care areas.
• Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies following established policies and protocols.
• Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles.
• Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, especially regarding controlled substances.
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing according to hospital protocol.
• Review culture and sensitivity data for antibiotic appropriateness and recommend changes.
• Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately.
• Participate in quality improvement, medication reviews, and staff education programs.
• Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree.
• BLS and ACLS certifications by the American Heart Association.
• Must receive a flu vaccine annually (no exemptions accepted during flu season).
• Proven experience with Epic EMR is required; Meditech experience is a plus.
