Location: Berean Baptist Church – Burnsville

Schedule: 20 hours per week (Part-Time)

Reports to: Director of Facilities & Events

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about ensuring safety and security in a church environment? Do you have security management skills that you would like to use to make a Gospel impact? Berean is seeking a dedicated Security Supervisor to oversee the protection and safety of our building and congregation.

As the Security Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for all church activities and events. You will lead and manage security and medical volunteers, identifying potential risks, implementing strategies to safeguard our facility and ensure the safety of our congregants and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate SAFE Team member volunteers during services and events
• Manage Berean's security software, including camera and security system monitoring
• Collaborate with Berean ministries to provide a safe and welcoming environment
• Respond to and manage incidents, emergencies, or disruptions in a calm and effective manner
• Plan and administer security and medical trainings or the SAFE and Medical Teams
• Lead and manage teams of security and medical volunteers
• Recruit and train volunteers from Berean congregation

Knowledge Requirements:

• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with basic radio/communication equipment
• Familiarity with incident reporting and documentation practices
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution

Preferred Work Experience:

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or safety operations
• Experience leading or coordinating teams, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting

Other Qualifications:

• Maintain or establish membership at Berean Baptist Church
• Excellent communication and team management skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Calm & professional under pressure
• Servant-hearted with a focus on safety and care
