Job Title: Fabricator – Weld Shop (1st Shift)

Job Description

This role works in a weld shop environment alongside welders, fabricating metal components to specification. You will cut material using band saws, operate drill presses, and use a press brake to form precise bends according to blueprints. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, accurate measurement skills, and the ability to follow prints and fabrication instructions closely.

Responsibilities

• Cut material to specification using band saws, ensuring accuracy and consistency with production requirements.

• Operate drill presses to create holes and features in metal components according to prints and work instructions.

• Set up and use a press brake to make precise bends per blueprint, maintaining correct angles and dimensions.

• Read and interpret basic blueprints to determine required cuts, bends, and fabrication steps.

• Measure material accurately with a tape measure down to 1/16" to verify dimensions before and after cutting or forming.

• Perform deburring on cut and formed parts to remove sharp edges and ensure a clean finish.

• Work collaboratively in the weld shop alongside welders to support production and meet daily output goals.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety guidelines and best practices.

• Inspect fabricated parts for quality and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.

• Use fabrication equipment responsibly, reporting any issues or maintenance needs to keep machines in good working order.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16".

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints for bends and cuts.

• Experience operating a press brake in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

• Experience using a drill press for metal fabrication tasks.

• Saw operation experience, including cutting material to specification using band saws.

• Deburring skills to finish parts safely and cleanly.

• 1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferably within a fabrication shop.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a weld shop or closely with welders.

• Comfort working with various metal materials and thicknesses.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Work Environment

This position is based in a very clean, well-lit weld shop with modern fabrication equipment. The standard 1st shift schedule runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some flexibility for shifts as early as 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You will work on the shop floor using band saws, drill presses, and press brakes, alongside welders and other fabrication professionals, in an environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and efficient production.

This is a Permanent position based out of De Pere, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
