Advisory Teacher - Charter Alternative Programs
El Dorado County Office Of Education
Middle College History Teacher
Mountainside Middle College High School and Mountainside Success Academy (MSA) are El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) charter schools under one program. Mountainside Middle College High School serves students in grades 9-12 who are interested in taking high school and community college courses simultaneously. Our format is modeled after a university, using a hybrid learning model. Students attend in-person classes twice weekly and complete assignments independently online three days a week. At MMCHS, we are committed to supporting all students interested in a middle college model, and we offer small class sizes and an advisory period to help students achieve their academic goals. Mountainside Success Academy is a community school serving students who have experienced challenges meeting the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance expectations of a traditional comprehensive high school setting. As an independent study program with required in-person instructional time, MSA provides individualized learning plans that support students in earning credits toward graduation while exploring post-secondary college and career pathways. At MSA, we are committed to fostering a supportive, student-centered environment where strong relationships with students and families are the foundation of success. This role primarily involves teaching in the middle college program in history and advisory, as well as providing academic support for students during the school day. This role will be working at both sites to provide culinary arts instruction.
Experience: Two years of recent full-time teaching experience preferred; home study/distance learning or alternative school setting experience desired. Education: Bachelor's degree and valid teaching credential, or eligibility for appropriate credential/permit.
