Bring your dedication and passion for supporting students to a dynamic contract role working with K-8th graders in a day treatment school program near Auburn, ME. This full-time position provides an opportunity to make a significant impact, collaborating with educators and helping young learners achieve success in both academic and behavioral growth.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher’s Assistant, or similar support role in a school setting
• Familiarity with K-8 student needs and age-appropriate developmental stages
• Background working in behavioral or therapeutic day treatment programs is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with students, teachers, and families
• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to a changing environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in education or behavioral health are a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional and behavioral strategies
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who need additional support
• Reinforce academic lessons, provide clarification, and help students complete assignments
• Support students’ social and emotional growth using positive intervention techniques
• Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records, communicate observations, and participate in team meetings
