About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active nursing license prior to the start date Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Previous experience circulating in the operating room - Proficient in charting using Cerner Description: Community hospital with a total of 16 operating rooms is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse. The hospital provides a range of surgical services, including General Surgery, Bariatrics, GYN, Urology, ENT, Orthopedics, Plastics, Spine, Robotics, Thoracic, Peripheral Vascular, and Pediatric surgical services. The nurse must be comfortable working with various patient age groups, including infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Candidates should be familiar with a wide array of surgical procedures such as: - Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy - Appendectomy - Cholecystectomy - Hernia repair - Laminectomy - Prostatectomy - Total joint replacement - Tonsillectomy The nurse will be expected to work on a block schedule with a 1:1 patient ratio on night shifts. Call shifts may be required, with approximately 5-8 call shifts per 13-week contract. Flexibility to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be necessary. All travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. This position requires strong teamwork and cooperation with interdisciplinary support staff. Candidates with previous charge experience are preferred.
