Mgr, Lead Production

Lead Production Manager – strategic lead for production services, bridging initial client discovery and onsite execution. Designs and oversees complex live, hybrid, and virtual events, managing onsite production teams for key strategic accounts. Role Responsibilities Oversee day‑to‑day operations, coordination, and execution of all client events. Partner with clients, AVI‑SPL sales, and supporting teams to collaborate on event support needs. Develop production solution framework ensuring a high‑quality, engaging end‑user experience. Manage and mentor the production management team. Provide direct event coordination support for assigned events as needed. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Team Management Oversee the onsite team delivering high‑quality live event experiences through video, audio, lighting, and presentation. Serve as first‑tier escalation point of contact for all service needs with the client team. Implement training program to develop personnel and recommend advancement opportunities. Assess current processes, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective measures. Ensure maximum utilization of internal employees and resources. Partner with AVI‑SPL colleagues for hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new personnel. Production Management Collaborate with Event Production Services on technical broadcast approach and design. Translate high‑level client visions into detailed technical and operational scopes. Lead drafting of technical proposals and RFx responses, identifying requirements and risks. Manage and maintain the production schedule including staff and resource allocations. Conduct weekly production meetings to assess progress and identify issues. Perform post‑mortems to recommend improvements. Oversee monthly budget for all event production ad‑hoc costs and communicate operational costs to stakeholders. Production Coordination Plan and review event needs with requestors, providing recommendations on production enhancements. Coordinate technical production needs ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures. Facilitate equipment rental and other supplemental production requirements. Manage all aspects of day‑of event support, including resource coordination. Assist with presenter preparation, rehearsal direction, and pre‑event needs. Oversee post‑production needs, basic editing, and delivery of recordings. Organize event metrics and feedback; provide recommendations for improvement. Serve as requestor’s main point of contact from exploration to live day. Fill in necessary production crew positions as needed. Qualifications 7+ years in live event production, event coordination, broadcast, audio/visual, or related field. 3+ years leading, mentoring, and developing teams. Experience with onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events. Experience with database and scheduling management. Experience coordinating logistics with multiple vendors. Strong technical knowledge of traditional event production, broadcast, and digital equipment. Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high‑pressure situations. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer‑relationship skills. Strong work ethic, self‑direction, patience, persistence, and perspective. Track record of being organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and collaborative, with capability to work independently. Ability to collect and analyze metrics and recommend continuous improvement. Nice‑to‑Have Skills Knowledgeable in operations and technical execution of video production, audio‑visual technology, and event space facilities. Experience in various production roles (technical directing, audio mixing, camera operation, editing). College degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or similar field.
