We are looking for one associate to join our team. This is not a fill-in position, it is an opportunity to learn from an experience acupuncturist while building and shaping your own practice. Your income is in your hands based on your effort and we give you the tools and knowledge to be successful. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the right person.

You will build your own patient following within an established, respected practice, under the direct mentorship of a practitioner with four decades of clinical experience across multiple traditions. During your ramp-up period, you will have access to Laura's clinical reasoning, her intake process, her treatment protocols, and her thinking on complex cases. That kind of access is rare, and for the right candidate, it is the most valuable thing this role offers.

$36,000 - $60,000 yearly

• Evaluation and treatment planning for Acupuncture patients

• Delivery of Acupuncture treatments

• Provision of ancillary therapies (gut sha, tui na, etc.) as needed

• Recording of patient visit notes in accord with office norms

• Educating patients and managing expectations

• Maintaining NCBAHM certification and Iowa License

• Collaborating and communicating with office staff

• Graduate of Accredited Acupuncture Program (Master's or Doctoral degree)

• NCBAHM certified in Acupuncture (Herbs and OBT not necessary)

• Chinese herb training and/or interest or experience in nutrition is a plus

• Must be friendly, enjoy working with patients and learning more about acupuncture

• Must be willing to self-promote in the community to build your practice along with receiving internal referrals of new patients

• Be willing to obtain an Iowa acupuncture license and maintain malpractice insurance

• Speak English well enough to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues

• Be willing and able to read medical reports to develop treatment plans and communicate professionally with other healthcare providers

Referral sources include orthopedists, PTs, chiropractors, LMTs, counselors, dentists, and our neighbors in the Olde Towne Village area of Iowa City, which include a pilates/yoga studio, dentist, orthodontist, gym, dermatologist, 4 chiropractors, and University of Iowa Healthcare clinic.
