Your Role on the Team

Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse 2 Break Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation while meeting competently all safe expectations of a nurse; responsible for providing meal and rest periods relief for the assigned unit(s) and based on established guidelines.

What It Takes to be Successful

Requirements for 3 West Medical Surgical:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS Provider within 14 days of hire or transfer d) ONS chemotherapy certification within 90 days e) Six months nursing experience f) External candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing or above
• Preferred: a) Acute hospital experience

Requirements for 2 East Telemetry:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS Provider within 14 days of hire or transfer d) ONS chemotherapy certification within 90 days e) Six months nursing experience f) External candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing or above
• Preferred: a) Acute hospital experience

Requirements for 2 West Telemetry:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS Provider d) Minimum six (6) months nursing experience e) External candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing or above
• Preferred: a) Basic cardiac care course or equivalent b) Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation

Requirements for 2 North/Dou Department:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS d) Minimum six (6) months of nursing experience. e) External candidates must have Bachelor's Degree in nursing or above
• Preferred: a) Acute care hospital experience

Requirements for CCU:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS d) Minimum Six Months nursing experience e) External candidates must have Bachelor's Degree in nursing or above
• Preferred: f) Critical Care Course g) Previous critical care and/or open heart experience

Requirements for ICU:

• Mandatory: a) Current CA RN License b) Current BLS Provider c) Current ACLS Provider d) Minimum six (6) months nursing experience e) External candidates must have Bachelor's Degree in nursing or above f) Previous critical care experience in acute care setting

Required Physical Requirements for all nursing positions:

• Position involves standing and walking for long periods of time, approximately 75% of the workday. Sitting is approximately 25%.
• Must be able to transfer and lift patients as necessary. Weight will vary from patient to patient.
• Must have the dexterity, coordination, and visual and auditory acuity to perform all job responsibilities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be free from signs of illness and infections.

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
