Base Salary: $407,359 – $612,013 annually

Productivity Incentives: RVU

Includes sign-on bonus and relocation support.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic surgeon-leader to oversee a well-established, high-volume Department of Surgery. Balancing clinical and administrative leadership, you will spearhead surgical innovation and mentorship, supported by the extensive resources of our facility.

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive relationship with OR Nursing, Anesthesia, and Emergency Medicine to address scheduling, staffing, and equipment challenges while optimizing surgical facility usage.
• Provide overall administrative leadership for the Department of Surgery, managing capital and operational budgets, executing strategic growth initiatives, and aligning departmental performance with hospital leadership objectives.
• Lead comprehensive clinical quality initiatives focused on surgical infection prevention, safety protocols, and clinical pathways, while establishing a standardized approach for integrating advanced surgical technologies across the health system.
• Oversee all clinical and educational activities, collaborating with the Residency Program Director to maintain full ACGME accreditation while actively mentoring, evaluating, and developing surgical faculty and residents.
• This is an employed position within a nonprofit health system.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.
• Colon and Rectal fellowship is highly preferred; candidates with other subspecialty training or a robust general surgery background are encouraged to apply.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
Physician MD/DO credentialed by the Maryland Board of Physicians, obtained prior to the hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Optometry (OD), or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) is required.
