Travel RN - Cath Lab - Electrophysiology (EP)

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab position requiring 3+ years of EP experience and comfort with conscious sedation.

EP Lab setting with an average daily census of 15 cases

Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Team structure includes 1st Late and 2nd Late assignments, with all staff receiving at least one of each per week

May be assigned additional shifts to help fill scheduling holes or reach 40 hours weekly

Performs procedures including ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node), ICD/pacer placement and exchanges, laser lead extraction, and LAAO

Uses specialized equipment including PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, and Cardio Lab

Documentation via EPIC, Cupid, and Cardio Lab systems; medication management via Pyxis; communication via SBAR

May be required to float within or near the facility

Must be willing to serve on Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations if required

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required; pending licensure accepted at submission

Current BLS and ACLS certification required; CCI RCES and CCI RCIS preferred

Minimum 3 years of relevant EP Lab RN experience required

Required experience: EP procedures, arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, conduction studies, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, pacemaker insertion, and scrub procedures

Must be comfortable providing conscious sedation during procedures

Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Experience with laser-assisted procedures and sterile technique required

Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs

Epic charting experience required

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 12 months preferred at submission; required at start

Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating procedures, EKG lead placement, prepping access sites, monitoring patients, and maintaining sterile fields

Stocks and manages supplies for procedures

Unit orientation is approximately 30 hours, delivered weekly

Scrubs are provided

Pre-start learning modules required (8-10 hours for acute care roles), completed online and annually

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate

Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required

Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO during the first week of assignment

Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed, with independent transportation

13-week minimum contract length
