The primary purpose of this position is to assist La Capitol Federal Credit Union to live out its mission of improving the financial well-being of our members. To meet this goal the position must deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of this position is to identify the needs of each member and/or Business Partner and recommend an appropriate La Cap solution. The primary function of the Indirect Dealer Finance Representative is to cultivate and enhance existing relationships with franchise and independent auto dealerships. This individual must be knowledgeable in La Cap's credit union's products and services so that accurate information is provided to existing and potential dealer partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - include but are not limited to the following:

1. Acquire, build, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with existing and prospective dealerships.

2. Remain informed on all industry related trends and each assigned market's competitive environment.

3. Meet with dealers as needed to define expectations, review results, and identify areas in need of improvement. Educate and inform dealers about policy, procedures, guidelines, expectations, or rate changes as needed. Record and report the outcome of dealer visits to your supervisor.

4. Keep supervisor apprised of any dealer issues related to but not limited to misrepresentation of applications or contracts. Serve as a liaison between dealers and indirect processors while working toward resolutions; listen and relay dealer concerns. Assist indirect staff with correcting contract errors, funding issues, titling issues, collecting dealer charge backs, negative reserves, etc.

5. Must be able to travel within the assigned territory / market segment, work a flexible schedule to include weeknights, weekends, and holidays as business and volume objectives dictate. Travel around the state will be required. Days on the road can be spread out depending on credit union need.

6. Work well independently and in group settings to meet monthly goals.

7. When not calling on dealers, you will be required to decision loan request based on the credit unions policy and procedures, assist with lien perfection, and perform other duties as required.

8. Utilize excellent sales skills to interact with dealers and capture approvals, while effectively maintaining the dealer relationship when declining credit applications that do not fit La Cap's program.

9. Participate in special assignments and projects as requested by management.

10. Explain loan programs to members and indirect lending dealers, evaluate their needs, and recommend loan options.

11. Employ a strong sense of urgency and ownership, and demonstrate a strong, professional work ethic in all facets of carrying out duties.

12. Provide prompt, accurate responses to all internal and external inquiries.

13. Manage credit risk and quality of loans by utilizing strong attention to detail and applying thorough analysis of presented loan applications

14. Structures approvals to maximize profit and enhance dealer relationships

15. Decisions applications submitted by dealer partners, placing an emphasis on response time, quantity of applications processed, and quality of applications approved.

16. Analyze current financial position of loan applicants to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money and makes decisions to approve, reject, or forward the loan requests to higher levels for decisions.

17. Respond to dealer on all indirect loan applications within the time frame determined by management.

18. Represent the Credit Union in a professional and mature manner.

19. Understands compliance issues and attends training as they relate to credit union services including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act, Reg P and Patriot Act

Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; two years' experience working with dealerships and indirect financing desired. Candidate must have experience underwriting and processing indirect loans. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Job Skills/Knowledge:

· Thorough knowledge of all products and services offered by La Cap with emphasis placed on the Indirect lending program.

· Maintain an awareness of all laws and regulations plus developments or trends within the credit union industry as well and Indirect Lending and consumer lending.

· Be an expert of our business, the market, and our program; be able to use this knowledge to make business decisions that are in the best interest of La Cap.
