Together, we’re shaping the future of food — one plate, one person, and One Fine Family at a timeWe are hiring for: Logistics Coordinator (Foodservice & Retail Transportation)Position SummaryThe Logistics Coordinator assists in the daily coordination of outbound transportation operations supporting both foodservice and retail customers. This role supports the Transportation Planning Lead in ensuring all shipments are scheduled, tracked, and executed effectively to support on-time delivery and high customer service standards.The Logistics Coordinator works closely with Sales, Production, and Warehouse teams to confirm order readiness and delivery schedules, while assisting in the coordination of shipments using both the company’s local transportation fleet and third-party carriers for deliveries outside the service area.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTransportation Coordination SupportAssist in coordinating and scheduling daily outbound shipments to meet customer delivery requirements.Create loads, track, and monitor carrier status to ensure timely pickup and delivery.Coordinate scheduling delivery and pickup appointments and updating changes in real time.Facilitate monitoring shipment progress and communicate delays or service issues as directedCarrier and Fleet Coordination SupportCoordinate local deliveries utilizing the company’s transportation fleetSupport the sourcing and coordination of third-party carriers for shipments outside the service areaMaintaining relationships with carriers to support consistent service levelsFacilitate rate requests and carrier communication as neededCommunication and Cross-Functional CoordinationAct as the communication link between Sales, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment on order readiness and delivery schedulesProvide updates on delivery status, delays, and changes to internal stakeholdersCommunicate with carriers and drivers regarding delivery expectations and schedule changes as directedIssue Resolution SupportAssist in identifying and resolving transportation issues such as delays, missed appointments, and routing challengesCommunicate and document service disruptions and corrective actionsEscalate issues to the Transportation Planning Lead as appropriateAdministrative and Documentation SupportMaintain accurate shipment records, tracking information, and delivery documentationMonitor transportation-related emails and phone calls and respond in a timely mannerRequest and file of Proof of Delivery (POD) and related documentationAdditional ResponsibilitiesProvide support for after-hours coverage as needed based on operational requirementsPerform other duties as assigned to support transportation and logistics operationsQualifications and RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or supply chain education is a plus1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or coordination role preferredWorking knowledge of DOT regulations, including Hours of Service and transportation compliance requirementsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProblem-solving ability with attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support changing prioritiesWillingness to learn and develop within transportation operationsCandidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test, and background screen.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with third-party carriers or transportation operationsExposure to food distribution or time-sensitive delivery environmentsFamiliarity with dispatch or transportation coordination processesWork Environment & ExpectationsFast-paced, operations-driven environment requiring frequent coordination across departmentsMay require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on business needsAbility to respond quickly to changing operational demands and prioritiesHolly Poultry, Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
