Position Overview At PetVet Care Centers, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part‑Time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at VRCC Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. We will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, and will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director. Our Facility Offers: CT, ultrasound, endoscope, digital radiography, and an in‑house lab Experienced and skilled team of veterinary professionals for exceptional technical care and client service Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintain accurate medical records Handle pharmacy duties, including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operation from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure highest standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration must be obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in emergency practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care Client communication skills: ability to elicit information, establish rapport, provide explanations to pet owners Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain Capacity for some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals, including cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other examinations, and prescribing appropriate treatment Problem‑solving: develop solutions to challenges related to managing a high‑quality veterinary hospital Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients, and internal staff Professionalism: provide and receive constructive criticism, suggestions, and feedback within a high‑quality professional veterinary team Business acumen: understand the management and finances of the veterinary hospital practice Ethics: knowledge of ethical principles guiding decisions affecting patients Commitment to continuing education: utilize available resources and facilitate learning for others Pay Range $65,000 — $70,000 USD Benefits Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000 CE stipend Licensing and dues reimbursement Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP Supportive home hospital environment, backed by national resources and a strong Culture of Care To apply, email Julia Stephens at View email address on click.appcast.io .
