About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 15:30 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Must have a state license Certifications: BLS (AHA), Handle with Care (can be completed on-site if needed) Must-Have Skills/Experience: - Experience working with mental health patients in a locked setting - Ability to pass medications using Omni Cell Description: Join a state-of-the-art behavioral health unit with an experienced staff and a commitment to providing compassionate care. This unit emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that care is flexible and responsive to changing patient needs. You will work with a diverse population of adults with a history of legal issues and varying diagnostic profiles. Common diagnoses include bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance addiction, chronic medical conditions, diabetes, hypertension, and COPD. This position involves a patient ratio of 1 RN to 9 patients. Our team includes psychiatric staff, social workers, and rehabilitation professionals, fostering a collaborative environment. Candidates should possess confidence and strong communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients and team members. The role requires adherence to dress code standards, including wearing blue scrubs. Unacceptable attire includes open-toe shoes and provocative or tight clothing.
